APR is a unique professional services consultancy providing a range of services based around two core areas of expertise:
APR Architects : Fresh Thinking * Innovative Design
APR Consultants : Strategic Information, Analysis and Advice
Over the last 20 years, APR Architects and APR Consultants have developed independent expertise in their respective areas which has allowed them each to grow substantial businesses in their own right.
Originally, APR started in 1983 as D.J. Shaw Associates. In 1985 the consultancy operated from offices in central Rotorua, offering resource management, marketing, town planning, economic analysis and research services. With the formation of APR in 1990, the range of services was extended to include architecture, urban design and interior design. Around the same time the company moved to a new office in Pukaki Street, in Rotorua's CBD.
In 1993, civil and structural engineering services were added with the merger of Paul Richardson's engineering practice. APR could now offer a one-stop consultancy service, hence our motto 'turning ideas into reality'.
By the mid 1990's, APR had grown and needed larger premises. The directors purchased and redeveloped one of older houses in Rotorua's CBD. The company also opened offices in Hamilton and Whangarei.
In late 2005, with staff numbers now approaching 30, APR's main office was relocated to the newly established Business Hub on Hinemaru Street, Rotorua, which was officially opened by the Prime Minister Helen Clark on Friday 1 December 2006.
